A new book out this week features cutting-edge homes, both in terms of environmental stewardship and design aesthetic.
Author Manel Gutiérrez selects 22 homes around the world that feature the latest green technology. The book is not only filled with stunning interior and exterior photographs, it also has floor plans, information on the architects, and a brief explanation of each home’s green features.
Realtor.com selects seven of their favorites, which includes a steel-frame home covered with plants in Binh Duong, Vietnam, a home made out of recycled materials down to the last straw (literally, the insulation is made out of straw bales) in Santa Cruz, Calif., and an air-conditioning free home in warm Atenas, Costa Rica.
