America’s Best Small Cities Offer A Sense Of Community

Even with a $90 million downtown redevelopment project and an influx of new jobs designed to attract millennial talent, locals of Fisher, Ind., still say their town remains a family-oriented place. The northern Indianapolis suburb has the markings of a small town: art festivals, outdoor concerts, breweries, and affordable homes.

Realtor.com ranked the 10 best places to live in the U.S., focusing on cities between 10,000 and 100,000 residents, with home prices, costs of living, diversity, education, and crime rates factored in.

Fisher ranked first, followed by Allen, Texas, Monterey Park, Calif., Franklin, Tenn., and Olive Branch, Miss.

North Arlington, N.J., ranked eighth.

Within 15 minutes of New York City's bustling Financial District, North Arlington offers a small-town feel that's appealing to families. The schools are excellent, crime is low, and the 85-acre Riverside County Park is a great place to get outside.
