Being outdoors in Phoenix has been described as “standing on the sun.” With temperatures regularly over 100 degrees during the summer, many find the city’s climate unbearable.

Others may see Phoenix, with 211 sunny days per year, as the best place to get a sun tan.

Realtor.com analyzed the weather in the 100 largest U.S. metros, looking at metrics like average annual wind speed, total days of precipitation, total hours of sun, and others, to determine the best cities for weather-based fun.

Boston is the best city to fly a kite due to its constant windiness, and snowy Rochester, N.Y., is the top spot to make snow angels. Miami is rainy and warm, so it was named as the greatest place to puddle jump.
