Home prices rose in December, along with job numbers. But those gains have yet to show up in worker’s paychecks, CNBC reports.

Using data from Zillow and the Census, CNBC provides an interactive map that shows the percentage of annual median income a household should expect to pay for a median-priced home in various counties throughout the U.S.

California has the priciest counties, where the cost of buying median-priced homes in 13 of the 25 counties consumes more than 43 percent of median incomes.
