Denver has a large inventory of high-end apartments but a small stock of affordable units for low-income renters.
However, the Mile High City has started a novel program to make housing more accessible by renting 400 vacant apartments to people who could not afford them otherwise with the difference in rent to be covered by the city’s affordable housing fund and by donations from local corporations and foundations.
