Fannie Mae debuted the Home Purchase Sentiment Index (HPSI) this week. The index takes results from the National Housing Survey and compresses them into a single monthly predictive indicator.
The HPSI’s goal is to provide distinct signals about the trends of the housing market so that people can make smarter business decisions.
The index is based on six questions that seek participants’ evaluation of housing market conditions and home purchase decisions.
