A group of longtime friends built a compound of tiny houses just outside of Austin, Texas—their own take on an “active adult community.”
According to The Washington Post, the Internet has dubbed the four couples’ project as “Bestie Row,” a place where the eight close friends, in their 50s and 60s, “can hang out with each other and reconnect with their partners.”
The friends said they wanted to keep their carbon footprint as small as possible. Cabins were built with high-grade foam insulation, rainwater collection tanks, corrugated steel, and the gardens were planted with native species.
