The Wall Street Journal combs through data from Trulia to find which states offer the lowest prices on homes that measure 6,000 square feet or larger.

The highest concentration of 6,000-sf plus homes that cost under $1 million is in Utah, followed by Georgia and Indiana. States with the fewest such mansions are Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, and California. Nationwide, only 0.32 percent of homes larger than 6,000 square feet were priced under the million dollar mark.

Experts say the variation is largely the result of construction and land costs.
