Home prices are closest to all-time high since housing bust

Today’s home prices are not far off their previous peak in April 2007 – immediately before the housing bust.

Price recovery may have been slow, but the Wall Street Journal's Nick Timiraos reports that U.S. home prices are now just 6.4 percent below the all-time high. With the latest 0.1 percent increase based on an index maintained by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, home prices are now up 4.4 percent over the past year.
