If you want to be a Southern Californian, you’ll have to pay for the weather.

That region of coastal California enjoyed more pleasant days per year, over 300, than any other part of the country. But median home values in the region’s top five metro markets were about $600,000, more than double the national median of $229,000.

Zillow tracked the relationship between sunny days and home values, and California and Hawaii locations were among the markets with lots of sun and higher home values. But it also found sweet spots like Greensboro, N.C. that has its share of pleasant weather and a much lower median home value at $139,400.
