Freddie Mac Chief Economist Frank E. Nothaft takes us back to the ups and downs of the housing market in 2014. “Several key elements of the consensus projections for 2014 were spot on,” Nothaft writes, referring to a modest pace of house-price gains and renaissance in the apartment rental market. “But other consensus projections were off, such as expectations for a pickup in home sales,” he adds.
