The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing is a public/private partnership dedicated to increasing the development and adoption of advanced building technologies. PATH works to make American housing more affordable, durable, energy-efficient, disaster-resistant and safe.

PATH shares information with the home building industry through its Web sites, www.pathnet.org and www.toolbase.org. You also can reach PATH at 800/245-2691.

Activities and resources include:

  • Technology inventory: Builders can search a database of more than 150 advanced building technologies that have achieved only a fraction of their potential market penetration.

  • Field evaluations and site demonstrations: PATH funds evaluations of advanced technologies and shares test results through its Web sites. Demonstration sites offer builders a chance to see these technologies in action.

  • Publications: PATH-funded research reports and electronic newsletters are available.

  • Research: Includes road-mapping, barriers analysis, standards and metrics, and technology development.

  • Exposure for innovative builders: Are you involved in a project that incorporates advanced technologies? Visit www.pathnet.org and tell PATH about it.

Administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Policy Development and Research, PATH cooperates with other federal agencies - including the departments of Energy, Commerce and Agriculture, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Science Foundation - to advance knowledge of promising technologies and take the risk out of innovation.
