Tesla’s new solar roof is as attractive as it is durable. It has the appearance of a traditional roof but it is made of impact-resistant glass that can withstand tough weather, such as hail.

On the basic level, the Tesla glass has a compact solar cell that sends power into the house. The cells only generate a couple of watts of electricity, but cells linked together have increased power potential. Power is stored inside a Tesla powerwall battery.
