The latest American Institute of Architects’ Home Design Trends Survey found that homeowners continue to invest in their kitchens, but focus on turning it more into a family area for entertainment rather than cooking.
“The design requirements often include high functionality to accommodate multiple activities, James Walbridge, chair of AIA’s custom residential architects network, told Realtor Mag’s Styled Staged & Sold Blog.
“The aesthetics of the kitchen have also changed as the composition and material selections have elevated the space to become an essential focal point of the total design,” Walbridge adds.
