Legrand has introduced voice control compatibility to two of its smart lighting systems, allowing the radiant Collection RF (radio frequency) and adorne Collection Wi-Fi to be controlled via Amazon’s Echo and Dot devices or Google Home.

“Our goal is to offer users the simplicity of connecting to our products any way they prefer," says Fritz Werder, vice president and general manager of Legrand’s On-Q and Nuvo lines. "We want homeowners who enjoy the convenience of using Amazon Alexa or the Google Assistant in their homes to have the same options for controlling their lights, too.”

Homeowners who have both the Legrand LC7001 Whole House Lighting Controller and the radiant or adorne switches or dimmers can integrate with Google or Amazon Alexa through a Samsung ARTIK Cloud account.

They will then be able to power and dim lights by simply saying phrases like, “Ok Google, turn on porch lights,” or “Alexa, dim the living room to 50 percent,” says Legrand. Users can also control multiple lights with a single command, name individual lights, and schedule lighting to change based on the time of day.
