Data from the U.S. Census Bureau show that the Asian population of Arcadia, a suburb of Los Angeles, has increased significantly since 2000, and now makes up 45.4 percent of the total population, mostly wealthy Chinese expatriates.
Bloomberg follows a day in the life of Raleigh Ornelas, an informal broker in Arcadia who handles low-key real estate services for Chinese millionaires looking for a place to keep their wealth out of reach from the Chinese government. Arcadia is a popular destination because of its large lots, good schools, and growing Chinese community.
