Business Insider shares data researched by the Land Report and revealed that the 100 biggest landowners in the U.S. increased their private holdings by 500,000 acres this past year.
Media tycoon John Malone tops the list for the fourth consecutive year with 2.2 million acres, more than twice as much land as the state of Delaware. In sum, these land tycoons control more than 30 million acres, which is almost 2 percent of the country’s landmass.
