Dwell found seven Missouri houses that are “bellwethers of contemporary design.”
A few of the homes are modern takes on midcentury designs. The Kansas City firm Kem Studio updated a two-story 1960s duplex home, and Kansas City architect Christian Arnold designed a house that hovers on stilts above a hillside.
Also, while several of the designs are linear and boxy, a featured house in Springfield has curved lines integrated throughout.
