A New 18-Volt Reciprocating Power Saw for Tight Spaces

Bosch Power Tools has introduced a new 18-volt reciprocating saw weighing 5.5 pounds and measuring 15¾ inches for cutting in tight spaces or overhead situations.

“For the professional seeking the go-anywhere convenience of cordless in a reciprocating saw combined with ample 18-volt power, the GSA18V-083B gets the job done,” says Jim Stevens, a product manager for wood tools at the company. “This is a low-vibration, high-efficiency tool that’s built to get rough-cutting jobs done quickly and cleanly.”

The tool features an optimized variable speed range and a 0.83-inch stroke at up to 3,000 strokes per minute, allowing users to ease into each cut without concerns about potential binding or kickback, the company says. It features a Lockjaw blade holder for toolless blade changes, an LED light to illuminate dark work areas, and a lock-out feature that prevents inadvertent startup.

Electronic Motor Protection protects the motor against overload and an ergonomically shaped handle with a soft-grip zone ensures a secure hold and minimizes user fatigue.
