Babcock Ranch, a solar-powered development scheduled to be completed in 2017 is being built in southwest Florida on 17,000 acres of land. The development will feature homes and a downtown center, and will be powered by a nearby 75-megawatt solar power plant with the hopes of becoming one of the most eco-centric towns in the United States.
As the Huffington Post reports, Kitson & Partners is the firm behind the development and says the town will offer residents a balance of technologically advanced infrastructure and amenities with access to a rich natural environment and a sense of community.
