The NAHB uses data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ 2014 Occupational Employment Statistics Survey to provide a count of the housing industry’s occupation classes.
Construction and extraction occupations make up 64 percent of all of the housing industry’s employees. This is followed by office and administrative support occupations, at 14 percent, and then management occupations, at 9 percent.
