Pinterest giveth and Pinterest taketh away. The popular app really can be a cruel beast. Sure, it can inspire someone with a beautiful picture of whimsical cupcakes made to look like Cookie Monster. But it can also demoralize someone when his or her attempt at the cupcakes comes out looking like a tray of 1970s era blue shag carpet.
Now, the people at Pinterest have created a list of 100 trends set to take off in 2016 and HGTV has picked out its top ten design trends on that list. The trends offer a combination of bold choices and more neutral selections, with geometric tiles, neutral color palettes, metallic wallpaper, and woven wall décor all making the list.
