Quikrete: Expansion Joint Strips, made from cane fiber, are designed to protect concrete slabs from potential damage caused by expansion and contraction. The 5-foot-long strips are weather-resistant and absorb little water. The strips do not become brittle in cold weather and will not work loose during the expansion or contraction of concrete caused by temperature changes, the company says.
