Neopor Plus, a graphite-enhanced polystyrene (GPS) rigid foam insulation from BASF, has a high R-value of R-5 per inch and uses 30 percent less material than other rigid foam insulation. Graphite particles embedded in the material reflect heat radiation and reduce heat loss. Neopor Plus has a new polymeric flame retardant and absorbs just 1 percent of water by volume. Suitable for homes in warm climates, Neopor meets Passive House construction standards.
