GOBankingRates has determined the incomes needed to comfortably live in the country’s most expensive zip codes.

According to CNBC, the personal finance website found that Sagaponack, N.Y., was the country’s most expensive zip code, with a $853,738 salary needed. The Long Island village was followed by Beverly Hills, Calif. ($692,388), Alpine, N.J. ($499,244) and Fisher Island, Fla. ($452,630).

GOBankingRates took into consideration local home values and the cost of living, including groceries, transportation, health-care costs, and utilities. The resulting salaries are based on the 50-30-20 rule, which assumes that half of income will be spent on necessities, 20 percent put toward savings and 30 percent left for discretionary spending.
