Rents for single-family homes, including condos, may have hit their peak. After six years of steady growth, rents have decelerated since February 2016, according to CoreLogic’s latest Single-Family Rental Index (SFRI).

Rents increased 2.8 percent year-over-year in June, as the report found, down from a high of 4.4 percent in February 2016.

Both ends of the market have been affected. Rents on higher-priced homes increased 1.9 percent on an annual basis in June, down from a 3 percent gain last June, and rents on the low end of the market rose 4.4 percent this summer, down from 5.5 percent a year ago.
