More Americans are moving to urban areas, causing prices in the most desired cities to skyrocket. NerdWallet studied which metro areas were the best for homebuyers looking to live in or near a city without breaking the bank.

“By using data on debt, median income, housing costs and home prices, we recommend how much families can spend while remaining within healthy budget parameters,” NerdWallet Says.
