Logically speaking, not every young adult can live in the city. There just isn’t enough space.

Three columnists from Bloomberg discussed how Millennials are driving the suburban resurgence. They said exurbs and the edges of large metros are growing the fastest because Millennials are having trouble finding affordable urban alternatives.

The supply of walkable, transit-friendly neighborhoods in the U.S. is limited, and it’s really hard for political reasons to add density to them or build more of them.

Suburbs are starting to attract older Millennials, many of whom are now ready for the responsibilities of marriage, children, and homeownership.
