Zillow analyzed cities with populations over 5,000 to find where the buyers are who bought in the right place at the right time, and find the highest appreciation growth.
Their study found that it was homebuyers in Palo Alto, Calif., who purchased in September 2006 that now see the highest growth, 105.7 percent.
In fact, most of the cities on the top 10 are in California’s Bay Area; the other two markets that made the list were Lehigh Acres, Fla., where residents who bought in January 2011 saw an 88.1 percent increase, and buyers in North Las Vegas, Nev., in January 2012, who have seen an average increase of 82.2 percent.
