7 Interior Organizers That Will Improve the Utility of Your Cabinets
Interior cabinet organization systems help solve an array of issues homeowners will face, but you have to choose the right options.
It’s no secret that practical storage solutions can save your clients’ time when it comes to searching for specific items, but the systems also help consumers maximize the space they already have.
Storage has always been an important element in the home, but it’s especially important in kitchens to accommodate the tools every cook needs. Houzz’s 2020 Kitchen Trends Report found 98% of homeowners upgrade their kitchen islands to include more storage. Many of these upgrades include built-in specialty organizers or drawers.
For clients who can afford it, there are many custom storage solution companies that will build one-of-a-kind systems to improve storage, but there are also off the shelf options that can bring the same simplicity for less.

The most popular type of kitchen organization system, according to Houzz’s report, was for cookie sheets, followed by deep drawers, and spice organization. For pull-out systems, the most popular were pull out waste bins, Lazy Susans, and pull out or swing out systems.
Housing Design Matters, a residential design service for home builders, wrote about what attracts female homebuyers to a space. It’s not the beauty of a home nor the colors, finishes, or lighting; it’s the practical features. Some of these features include appliance garages, a dedicated cabinet area to house all countertop appliances, and walk-in pantries with space for a multitude of organizational baskets. And although closets are far different from the kitchen or bath, a well organized closet can be a game changer.
If a walk-in closet with walls of drawers, displays, and hanging rods can make it easier to get dressed and out the door in the morning, there’s no reason a well organized kitchen cannot do the same.
The kitchen trends study by Houzz also found the demand for these storage solutions remain steady and strong compared to the previous year. U.S. demand for home organizational products will continue at a 3.8% annual increase through 2023, according to The Freedonia Group. By 2023, the industry will be worth $12.7 billion.
