"With its 50-year warranty, I like using Advantech OSB for all of our decking. It goes on top of the floor joists, and is much more rigid and dense than some cheaper brands of OSB. More importantly, Advantech OSB resists water penetration as well as the swelling that is typical of some brands of OSB. When lesser brands get wet, they swell up and you get ridging at the joints. As a result, you actually have to sand down the decking before you put your finished flooring on it. We don't have that problem with Advantech. It does a great job for us, providing a rigid floor with less deflection." —Ron Swecker
