According to Proud Green Home, a new apartment building project in Innsbruck, Austria, is the first of its kind in the world to be certified as a Passive House Plus building, described as a combination of energy efficiency building techniques and renewable energy sources.
"The question whether it is possible to supply a residential building completely through renewables, throughout the entire year, has clearly been answered: yes, it works, " Dr. Wolfgang Feist, Director of the Passive House Institute, told Proud Green Home.
The Vögelebichl housing complex in Innsbruck is composed of two new buildings connected by an underground garage.
