Renters Are Choosing Single-Family Homes for These Features

A look at which rental listing keywords are attracting the attention of single-family renters

As prices have risen over the past several years, purchasing a home has become an even greater challenge. This has caused many Americans to turn to single-family rentals. When it comes to renting, certain amenities are more popular than others. To figure out what these amenities are, real estate marketing platform Point2 Homes analyzed rental listings across the U.S. and found that demand for larger, more comfortable homes has surged over the past decade. In particular, these renters value outdoor areas, with words such as “patio” and “porch” appearing most frequently on rental listings.

But houses for rent offer so much more than just extra space. They’re also about the best, most fun usage of that outdoor space. This is made obvious by one word that summons both luxurious leisure and fun, splashy relaxation: The keyword “pool” is all that and more, and it snatched a place on the podium, showing that house renters know how to live, work and play in style.
