Bill Pulte Confirmed to Head Federal Housing Finance Agency

Bill Pulte has been confirmed as Federal Housing Finance Agency director.
On Thursday, the U.S. Senate confirmed Bill Pulte to lead the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), which oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Pulte is the grandson of William Pulte who founded national home builder PulteGroup in 1950 in Detroit. Bill Pulte was confirmed as the new director of the FHFA with bipartisan support in a 56-43 vote, The Detroit News reports. Under President Donald Trump, "we will usher in the golden age of home ownership," Pulte recently said.
Banking Chairman Tim Scott, R-South Carolina, emphasized the generations of housing expertise in Pulte's family and highlighted his time working through the nonprofit Blight Authority in partnership with Mayor Dave Bing in Detroit to clear out abandoned homes and structures in the city.
