Home Prices Projected to Grow by 2.3% in 2025

In September 2024, U.S. home prices rose by 3.4% compared with the previous year, and according to CoreLogic, a property information provider, prices will likely continue to grow in the new year but at a slightly slower rate. CoreLogic predicts prices will increase by 2.3% from September 2024 to September 2025. Rhode Island and New Jersey led with the highest year-over-year price gains at 9% and 8.6%, respectively, while just one state saw a decline in home prices.

The CoreLogic Market Risk Indicator (MRI), a monthly update of the overall health of housing markets across the country, predicts that Provo-Orem, UT (70%-plus probability) is at a very high risk of a decline in home prices over the next 12 months.  Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Rowsell, GA; Salt Lake City, UT; Gainesville, FL; and Palm Bay-Titusville-Melbourne, FL; (70%-plus probability) are also at very high risk of declines in home prices over the next 12 months.
