30 Best Cities to Buy a Home in the US

Due to their job opportunities and relative affordability, several Texas cities top the list

Whether it’s looking for an affordable home or looking for a better job, there are a number of reasons why homebuyers may want to relocate. Personal finances company WalletHub analyzed 300 cities to determine the best markets for homebuyers right now. Of these cities, several Dallas-area suburbs, such as McKinney and Frisco, topped the list, with Cary, N.C., ranking third. These cities stood out for their strong job growth, affordability, and availability of homes, among other factors. As WalletHub analyst Cassandra Happe puts it:

“Current home prices are extremely important, but there’s much more that you need to look at when determining the health of a city’s real estate market. Factors like the cost of living, the potential for the value of homes to increase, the availability of recently-built homes and the quality of the city’s job market are all important to consider in conjunction with asking prices and interest rates. The best cities may not always be the cheapest, but they offer excellent housing options and long-term stability.”
