Revinylize Recycling Initiative Brings Sustainable Solutions to Kentucky Community
The Revinylize Recycling Collaborative, part of the Polymeric Exterior Products Association’s recycling program, recently partnered with organizations to promote sustainability in the Louisville, Ky., community. The initiative focused on residing a recovery home operated by nonprofit organization New Leaf Clinic with sustainable vinyl siding, according to building manufacturer Westlake Royal Building Products, which donated the material alongside Mueller Distributors. In doing so, thousands of pounds of old vinyl siding were able to be removed from the house and recycled into new eco-friendly materials.
Beyond the home’s physical transformation, the initiative symbolizes a sustainable path forward for Louisville. Representatives from the City of Louisville’s Waste Management District expressed interest in scaling this model citywide, while Hand in Hand, a neighboring nonprofit, shared their enthusiasm for future partnerships.
“It’s not just about recycling materials; it’s about renewing hope,” said Maura Cautilli, Executive Director of Hand in Hand. “This project shows what’s possible when we work together to uplift our community.” Learn more
