This Construction Simulator Video Game Offers a Low-Stress Glimpse Into the Building Industry
Originally created in 2011 by German game publisher Astragon Entertainment and software firm Weltenbauer, the Construction Simulator series has achieved 30 million downloads and sales with a growing fanbase. The simulator features nearly a dozen missions for users, all centered around construction tasks and machine operation.
The Construction Simulator currently has licensing agreements with big name American and German construction brands like Bobcat, CAT, Mack, Liebherr, and Schwing Stetter, and with a new iteration set to be released in September, its audience is likely to grow, Construction Dive reports.
Filled with excavators, cranes and more, the Construction Simulator series was originally created in 2011 by German game publisher Astragon Entertainment and software firm Weltenbauer and has since spawned several mobile iterations.
Across platforms, which include PC and mobile, the franchise has achieved 30 million downloads and sales, according to Carsten Höh, PR & community manager for Astragon. In September the series plans to release a new iteration, simply called “Construction Simulator,” which will feature a co-operative multiplayer mode, where players can work together toward a common goal, and maps spread across the U.S. and Europe.
