The Dallas, Texas, home building industry is so hot even Canada is jumping into the game. Pacesetter Homes, a Canada-based homebuilder, says it is on track to complete approximately 200 homes by next year. The company has 1,200 home building lots under contract in North Texas, and offers communities with houses priced between $220,000 and over half a million. The Canadian company joins the others in the area to form one of the country’s largest home building markets, producing more than 30,000 single-family residences a year. Not bad, eh?

A Canada-based homebuilder is planting its flag in North Texas with plans for a dozen new residential communities.

Pacesetter Homes — a part of Winnipeg-based Qualico Co. — has already opened its first half dozen Dallas-Fort Worth subdivisions and is working on six more in the area.

“Pacesetter is establishing its brand in the Dallas market and scaling quickly to complete approximately 200 homes by next year,” Blake Friesenhahn, Pacesetter’s D-FW vice president, said in a statement. “We have chosen to debut our brand in some of the fastest-growing submarkets in DFW, offering a selection of home designs for buyers in all stages of life.”

The builder is opening sales at its communities in Anna, Melissa, Oak Point, Prosper and Rockwall with houses priced from the $220,000s to more than $500,000.

Pacesetter has almost 1,200 home building lots under contract across North Texas and is planning to open six more communities this year.

Qualico established Pacesetter Homes as its U.S. office in Austin in 2007, and the company has been one of the fastest-growing U.S. homebuilders in recent years.

Pacesetter now builds 500 homes a year in the Central Texas market.

In North Texas, Pacesetter is now selling homes in the Woodridge community in Oak Point, Creek Crossing in Melissa, Anna Town Square in Anna, Parks at Legacy in Prosper and Breezy Hill, Stone Creek and Gideon Grove in Rockwall.
