Habitat for Humanity Builds Affordable Housing for Orange County Families
Volunteers with Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando and Osceola County are building 19 homes for local families

Five lots were donated to Habitat for Humanity by Orange County one year ago as part of its program to turn surplus property into affordable housing, and with the help of local volunteers, construction work is now underway. Habitat for Humanity plans to build 19 homes in the neighborhood, which will be equipped with energy efficient features and sold at an affordable mortgage to women in need, WESH Orlando reports.
"They are being sold at an affordable mortgage to hardworking women and their families so they can create their forever home," Catherine Steck McManus of Habitat for Humanity said.
The homes are going to women and for Women's History Month, women are doing a lot of the work, including a group of 15 women from Hilton Grand Vacations.
"One of our pillars is homelessness. We really believe everybody should have a safe place to call home," Hannah Vazzana of Hilton Grand Vacations said.
