Construction workers tackle physically demanding tasks each day, and feeling undervalued only makes these tasks that much more strenuous. According to For Construction Pros, showing appreciation can enhance worker motivation and commitment, which in turn boosts productivity and helps with retention. Leaders can show their gratitude through various means, including offering competitive pay and benefits, providing flexibility, and fostering an inclusive work environment.

Indeed, in one study, turnover was 31 percent less at companies with a strong culture of employee recognition. In another, 53 percent of surveyed workers said they would stay longer at their current employer if their manager would show more appreciation.
