600,000th Home Receives National Green Building Standard Certification

Home Innovation Research Labs recently announced the 600,000th green home to receive ICC-700 National Green Building Standard (NGBS) certification. With the recent addition, this is the first time in history that more than 100,000 homes have been certified in a single year. The 600,000th certified home is a renovation of a single-family residence in Baton Rouge, La. The home received NGBS Green certification at the Emerald level, which is the highest tier and recognizes exceptional performance in energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainability. Additionally, it is the first home to receive the NGBS Green +RESILIENCE certification, which was earned for its resilience against natural disasters.
