Demand Grows for Universal Design—Even at the High End [Video]

Accessible isn't a synonym for utilitarian and cold.

A survey done by the American Institute of Architects shows interest is increasing in accessible design, the Wall Street Journal reports. There is a demand for elevators hidden by cabinetry or high-end finishes that are slip-resistant – as one homeowner puts it, accessibility “that doesn’t scream handicap.”
