Hardware manufacturer Designer Doorware has unveiled a new circular cabinet knob collection whose vibe can shift depending on face and finish.

“The perfectly round design of the solid brass knobs is rooted in nautical inspiration stemming from the use of porthole windows in Streamline Modern and Art Deco architecture,” the company explains. “Designers can opt for a clean, flat face, a dished face, or, for added flair, a more ornate step-down perimeter. The design options are equally captivating and welcoming, suitable for a range of room styles and preferences.”

Niki cabinet knobs range in size from 50 to 70 millimeters and come in a range of standard and special finishes—from an unlacquered Polished Brass to a powder-coated Satin White.

For further customization, Niki knobs respond differently to various finishes. In a pastel powdercoat, for example, the knobs give off a playful look. In black metal, the feel is bold. When paired with a satin finish, the step-down element and the knob’s starburst reflection of light is wholeheartedly indicative of Art Deco-inspired design.

“Never before has the humble circle been so fun—and so versatile,” says Joseph Di Benedetto, executive director for Designer Doorware. “The available styles and finishes of the Niki knob allow designers to create just the right tone to perfectly suit the style of the room, whether stark and modern or cozy and rustic.”
