Eichler homes (named after post World War II housing developer Joseph Eichler) were built primarily in the Bay Area and Southern California. Overall, 11,000 Eichler homes were built, the last one back in 1974, but now, thanks to a new and growing fan base and the help of Modern Homes Realty CEO Monique Lombardelli, Eichler homes are making a comeback, reports Realtor.com.

Lombardelli secured the exclusive license to the Eichler homes’ build plans and is offering them to builders at $10,000 apiece, completely updated to current California building codes.

But just because these homes look like they belong tucked into a California hillside somewhere, they are even becoming popular in places quite distant from the Golden State, such as Tennessee and Toronto.
