Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk announced that a new product will launch at the end of April that’s not a car. No further details were given, but one analyst says this product will be a battery to power a home.
According to Global Equities Research analyst Trip Chowdhry, the product Tesla has been developing is an in-home battery “that can harness solar energy, power the house, and even send energy back to the grid,” BGR reports.
Chowdhry says he knows two people that currently possess a residential battery from Tesla. He further adds that there are about 230 households in California that are currently testing Tesla Stationary Batteries in their homes.
