The Rose Cottage — a 3,370-sf New Hampshire home designed by architect Harold Turner — is a test bed for the ROSE (Renewable energy production; Owner occupant-driven spatial design; Sustainable building practices; Energy efficient) construction method. Walls are R-40, the roof is R-60, and there's R-22 under the slab. There is also an interesting approach on careful placement and sizing to doors and windows in the house. A PV array provides 13.8 kW of power.
