CNBC reports that Jane Baldwin, who moved into a 400-square foot backyard home, represents the growing number of seniors who will need some sort of affordable, accessible housing as they age.

Baldwin’s home has universal design features, including wide hallways and doorways and walk-in showers, which make it easy for her to get around. The pods can cost between $100,000 to $250,000, which is well under the price of a single-family home (especially in the Bay Area).
