Home security brand Hampton Products is set to introduce a new deadbolt that allows home owners to enter their houses with biometric sensor.

The new BenjiLock By Hampton deadbolts is designed for home exterior and interior door use integrates the biometric sensor so homeowners may quickly scan their finger to gain entry.

BenjiLock deadbolt can be opened three ways: by using its fingerprint sensor, by entering owner-programmed numeric codes on a secure digital keypad, and by traditional metal key. It was specifically designed to operate without the need for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, the company says, and provides homes, apartments and vacation rentals with a turnkey solution that is not dependent on network availability or external power for access.

“Many consumers want a next-generation keyless door lock, but are wary of connecting it to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth,” says Kim Kelley, president and CEO of Hampton Products. “We combined the innovative BenjiLock fingerprint sensor technology with our industry-best security hardware to develop a high-tech deadbolt that homeowners can control without an app or home network. Consumers can install the BenjiLock By Hampton Door Lock on virtually any door inside or outside the home—putting the key at their fingertips.”

The BenjiLock By Hampton Fingerprint Door Lock stores 10 fingerprints and 25 user codes, with setup done directly on the deadbolt after installation (no software or Wi-Fi needed). Users enter codes on an illuminated capacitive touchscreen on the deadbolt’s front face; a clearing code randomizes the digits each time, eliminating the ability for someone to recognize the numeric pattern. The company says the unit is easy to install and program, and the ANSI Grade 2, die-cast zinc deadbolt is pick-resistant, bump-resistant and drill-resistant, and powered by a set of four 4 AA Duracell batteries (supplied).

The Fingerprint Door Lock is part of the growing BenjiLock By Hampton portfolio of products, originally envisioned by inventor Robbie Cabral to make it easier for homeowners to access their belongings, Hampton Products says. The fingerprint padlock prototype originally appeared on ABC’s “Shark Tank.” The family of products now includes the original 43-millimeter Fingerprint Padlock, the Fingerprint Travel Lock, the Fingerprint Bike Lock, and the 35-millimeter Fingerprint Sport Lock.

Available in Tuscan Bronze and Satin Nickel finishes, the BenjiLock By Hampton fingerprint door lock has a $159 suggested retail price and can be purchased directly from the company at buyhampton.com.
