A new study found that homes that were rated by RESNET’s Home Energy Rating System (HERS) sold 2.7% more on average than comparable unrated homes. Conducted by Freddie Mac, the study looked at homes rated between 2013 and 2017.
The study also found that homes with lower HERS Index Scores are sold for 3% to 5% more than homes with higher HERS Index Scores. In addition, RESNET-rated homes have lower delinquency rates than unrated homes.
